Taylor Mefford, MSED, LMHC, is a licensed psychotherapist (New York & Florida) dedicated to providing a warm, empathetic environment for clients to explore and heal. With advanced training in EMDR, somatic experiencing, and grief counseling, they possess a multifaceted skill set to support diverse client needs. Their work is informed by a trauma-informed and multicultural lens, ensuring each person is met with a safe space for self-exploration.

Taylor has a decade of experience in various settings including college counseling centers, private practice, and non-profit agencies. They have worked with individuals from adolescence through late adulthood, addressing a range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, religious trauma, academic abuse, and caregiver burnout. Their approach to therapy is humanistic, psychodynamic, and rooted in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), while also incorporating somatic work.

Taylor values creativity and play within the therapeutic relationship, emphasizing the importance of safety and understanding. They offer individual and group therapy tailored to each person’s unique journey. In addition to therapy, Taylor provides clinical  supervision to staff psychotherapists and graduate psychotherapy interns, fostering a nurturing environment focused on developing confidence, listening deeply, and prioritizing self-care.
