Dalia Moamed, B.A., MHC-I, is a dedicated Graduate Mental Health Clinician based in New York, currently completing her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Fordham University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in mental health from Stockton University, NJ. Dalia’s professional background is rich with both teaching and research experiences. She has worked with a diverse population, including young adults, children, students, and faculty, addressing various mental health issues and concerns. As a former preschool teacher, Dalia created safe and nurturing learning environments for children from infancy to six years old. She has also worked in special education classrooms with students of all age groups, reinforcing personal, social, behavioral, and academic learning goals following Applied Behavioral Analysis. Dalia’s research assistance focused on the necessity of mental health services, particularly in the clinical diagnosis and assessment of depression among Asian Americans, with a strong emphasis on social justice. Currently, she contributes to qualitative research on the help-seeking behaviors of emerging adults.
As a Graduate Mental Health Clinician, Dalia provides in-person and remote therapy to adolescents, adults of all ages, families, and partners. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and interpersonal relationship issues. With her background as a biracial, queer, second-generation immigrant woman, Dalia is deeply passionate about serving marginalized populations and offering BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming services. She founded the Queer and Transgender People of Color Society (QTPOCS), a student organization hosting events to address, explore, celebrate, and validate the experiences of intersecting queer and trans BIPOC identities on campus.
In her practice, Dalia is committed to collaborative healing grounded in advocacy, compassion, safety, and empowerment. She strongly believes in utilizing compassion to empower her clients, and in elevating and strengthening their innate voices and stories. Dalia helps clients navigate life’s challenges and build resilience, taking a personalized approach tailored to each person’s unique circumstances and needs. Her integrative approach includes cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, multicultural, feminist, and person-centered theoretical orientations. Outside of her professional life, Dalia enjoys music, reading, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
